{"id":216392,"date":"2025-12-05T07:24:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T07:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/216392\/"},"modified":"2025-12-05T07:24:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T07:24:16","slug":"exclusive-baidus-kunlunxin-valued-at-close-to-3-billion-eyes-hong-kong-ipo-sources-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/216392\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive-Baidu&#8217;s Kunlunxin, valued at close to $3 billion, eyes Hong Kong IPO, sources say"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Dec 5 (Reuters) &#8211; Kunlunxin, the AI chip unit of Chinese internet search giant Baidu, is planning an initial public offering in Hong Kong, having recently completed a fundraising that valued it at 21 billion \u200byuan ($2.97 billion), three people familiar with the matter told Reuters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The move comes as China pushes to develop \u200cdomestic alternatives to U.S. semiconductors amid escalating Washington export restrictions on advanced chips, and follows several other Chinese AI chip companies eyeing public market debuts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In \u200ca sign of massive appetite for AI chip stocks, on Friday Moore Threads, which makes graphics processing units (GPUs) used for <a href=\"https:\/\/tech.yahoo.com\/ai\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:artificial intelligence;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">artificial intelligence<\/a> computing, debuted on the Shanghai Stock Exchange at more than five times its IPO price.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Investment materials reviewed by Reuters showed that Kunlunxin wanted to complete an IPO by early 2027. Two of the sources said the company was communicating that it \u2060aims to file a listing application to \u200cthe Hong Kong Stock Exchange as early as the first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Kunlunxin completed its latest funding round in the past six months, raising over 2 billion yuan from a China \u200dMobile fund and other private investors, the two people and a third source said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The round valued Kunlunxin at around 21 billion yuan, up from 18 billion yuan in its previous fundraising, the people said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The sources declined to be identified as the information is not public. \u200bBaidu did not address questions about the IPO plan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Developing domestic GPU capabilities has become critical for Beijing as the \u200cU.S. has tightened restrictions on exports of advanced semiconductors to China, including barring sales of <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/NVDA\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Nvidia;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nvidia<\/a>&#8216;s latest chips.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Kunlunxin joins a wave of Chinese chip companies planning public listings.
