Responding to a post on X (formerly Twitter), which suggested that xAI’s long-term plan is to function as an “edge node” running AI inference to generate pixels and audio—eliminating the need for a traditional operating system or apps—Musk said the prediction was “easy” to make. His latest comments underline his belief that AI will fundamentally transform the way people use devices, making them less about apps and more about direct interaction with intelligent systems.“xAI’s long term plan is to be a edge node running AI inference to generate pixels and audio. No more traditional OS or apps but just AI rendering everything directly,” wrote an X user. To this, the Tesla CEO replied saying “It’s an easy prediction of where things are headed.”

Elon Musk’s Own AI Turns on Him, Publicly Sides With Sam Altman | WATCH

Musk further explained that in the coming years, devices like smartphones and computers will largely serve as edge nodes for AI inference. This means that instead of handling everything on central servers, AI processing will increasingly be done locally on the device. He pointed out that bandwidth limitations make it impractical to run all AI processes from remote servers, making local processing the more efficient option.“Devices will just be edge nodes for AI inference, as bandwidth limitations prevent everything being done server-side,” Elon Musk stated in the post. The idea signals a future where conventional operating systems and applications could be replaced by AI systems that render everything—whether visuals or audio—directly. In a related news, Musk called upon engineers to join his artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, to take on Microsoft’s software business. Taking a dig at the software giant, he even noted that engineers who join xAI will be able to work on building a “purely AI software company called Macrohard.” Musk even clarified that the name ‘Macrohard’ may sound made up but the “project is very real.In his X post, Musk wrote: “Join @xAI and help build a purely AI software company called Macrohard. It’s a tongue-in-cheek name, but the project is very real!In principle, given that software companies like Microsoft do not themselves manufacture any physical hardware, it should be possible to simulate them entirely with AI.”

Elon Musk has once again shared his vision of how artificial intelligence will shape the future of technology.…

[261
291,18629,289,4654,290,18,1647,19,17,82,1298,11380
0":"post-21719","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-artificial-intelligence","8":"tag-ai","9":"tag-ai-powered-gadgets","10":"tag-artificial-intelligence","11":"tag-artificial-intelligence-future","12":"tag-artificialintelligence","13":"tag-eire","14":"tag-elon-musk","15":"tag-ie","16":"tag-ireland","17":"tag-technology","18":"tag-tesla","19":"tag-xai
["GET
