In September the youth unemployment rate had peaked at a 15-year high.<\/p>\n<p>Employment among the core-aged group, which accounts for two-thirds of the total labor force, was little changed in November.<\/p>\n<p>The average hourly wage of permanent employees &#8211; a gauge closely tracked by the Bank of Canada to ascertain inflationary trends &#8211; stayed at 4% in November, the same as the previous month.<\/p>\n<p>The labor force data is the last major data set to come before the Bank of Canada&#8217;s <a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/americas\/bank-canada-done-cutting-rates-least-until-2027-house-prices-rebound-soon-2025-12-05\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">monetary policy decis<\/a> next week.
