\u201cThe photos looked more cozy or more whatever than what the reality is,\u201d he told\u00a0Page Six<\/a>\u00a0during an Ari event in Miami Beach. \u201cLike, we\u2019re friends, you know? I think that paparazzi was hiding in the bushes. There was literally nobody around. We were just waiting for her Uber, and I was waiting outside with her. She\u2019s just a friend\u2026 We\u2019re just good friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

The photographs were taken on the night of November 26 and released the following day, when Mauricio was\u00a0celebrating Thanksgiving with his estranged wife<\/a>,\u00a0Kyle Richards<\/a>, and their family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat [story] was released during Thanksgiving dinner, which kinda sucked, but whatever,\u201d he continued. \u201cCJ\u2019s my friend. It\u2019s just that simple.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Beverly Hills dad said the news reports caused a mild disruption during the holiday get-together, as his daughter\u00a0Sophia Umansky<\/a>\u00a0immediately confronted him over the CJ photos.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we\u2019re all having Thanksgiving dinner, and Sophia\u2019s like, \u2018Dad, what the f\u2013k is this?\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018What are you talking about?’ There\u2019s nothing to say. You just have to be authentic and real. It\u2019s that simple. Yeah, we\u2019re good friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time paparazzi photos have caused tension within Mauricio\u2019s family. Back in July 2024, Mauricio was photographed kissing another woman at an airport<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 an incident that Kyle\u00a0described as \u201cstrange.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0She addressed the matter in\u00a0the RHOBH Season 15 premiere<\/a>, admitting the PDA photos were \u201cshocking.\u201d<\/p>\n

“The first time I saw a photo of Mau\u2026 I was taken aback,” she told a producer. “But I’m a little desensitized now, unfortunately. Of course, he’s allowed to do what he wants, and I know he’s not doing that to hurt me. I just wish that he would be a little more discreet.”<\/p>\n

Mauricio Umansky says he’s too busy to “even think about a relationship”<\/p>\n

Kyle and Mauricio announced their marital split in the summer of 2023 after 27 years of marriage. Although they have yet to pursue a divorce, the ex-couple said they\u2019re both single and permitted to date other people; however, Mauricio told Page Six he was simply too busy to start a serious relationship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just taking it a day at a time, and I\u2019m enjoying getting to know myself,\u201d he said about his\u00a0\u201csingle\u201d era<\/a>. \u201cI got married when I was young, right? I\u2019m busy right now! I\u2019m working my butt off. I\u2019ve never worked harder in my life. I mean, we\u2019re doing so many different things at\u00a0The Agency<\/a>. I\u2019m launching a whole bunch of new businesses, I\u2019m being disruptive in the industry, I\u2019ve now taken on modeling<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI travel more than anybody I know. In the last 50 days, I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve slept in the same bed for more than three days. When you have a schedule like that, I can\u2019t even think about a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n
