The mother-of-one took to Instagram to announce the happy news by sharing a picture of an ultrasound scan.<\/p>\n
Ms Hand (36) and her partner, Gary Foy, are expecting the baby in June next year.<\/p>\n
“Gary and I are so excited to share that we\u2019re having a baby,\u201d she wrote in a post on Instagram. “Everything is finally falling into place, and it feels like we\u2019ve reached our happy ending.\u201d<\/p>\n
“The past few years have been challenging, but every moment has been worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Dubliner, who has a 14-year-old daughter Freya, also thanked everyone \u201cwho has stood by us and supported us through everything\u201d.<\/p>\n
“Your love and kindness have meant the world. For the first time in seven years, I\u2019m looking forward to a peaceful Christmas.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re incredibly happy and can\u2019t wait to meet our baby on June 4, 2026, and excited for what 2026 brings,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
It comes just days after the Supreme Court decided not to grant MMA fighter Conor McGregor and his friend James Lawrence further appeals against the outcome of the Nikita Hand civil rape case.<\/p>\n
The court said it was not satisfied either man had raised any matter of general public importance or that a further appeal would be in the interests of justice.<\/p>\n
McGregor and Lawrence had sought further appeals after their petitions to the Court of Appeal were thrown out in July, but the legal process was brought to a close by the decision on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Following the Supreme Court’s decision, Ms Hand said: “After seven years seeking justice, accountability and peace, I am pleased to say that the Irish civil justice system has allowed my voice to be heard.”<\/p>\n
“It has allowed me to speak my truth. It has afforded me vindication. This in itself is part of the healing process. The public and private roads that I and my loved ones have travelled have been long and painful.<\/p>\n
“Today marks not a victory for me but for all of those who have been treated as I have. You are never alone on your journey, if you choose not to be. Help and support is there.<\/p>\n
“It is also a victory for the justice system; the judges, the juries and officials who work so hard to make our system honest and fair.\u201d<\/p>\n
In November last year, a High Court jury determined Ms Hand had been raped by the former UFC champion in a Dublin hotel in 2018, awarding her close to \u20ac250,000 in damages. McGregor was also ordered to pay Ms Hand\u2019s legal costs, believed to be around \u20ac1.5m.<\/p>\n
Lawrence was found not to have raped the mother-of-one.
