We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sc-1uza6dc-1 cglitp\">Your support makes all the difference.<\/strong>Read more<\/p>\n<p>Actor<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/films\/news\/scream-seven-matthew-lillard-return-b2689764.html\"> Matthew Lillard <\/a>has said it \u201cf***ing sucks\u201d that director Quentin Tarantino shared a public criticism of him during <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/films\/news\/paul-dano-quentin-tarantino-batman-matt-reeves-b2878525.html\">a controversial podcast appearance<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The Oscar-winning writer and director behind films such as Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/films\/news\/quentin-tarantino-paul-dano-there-will-be-blood-b2877750.html\">made a number of disparaging remarks about Lillard <\/a>and fellow actors Paul Dano and Owen Wilson, during an interview on the Bret Easton Ellis Podcast. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuentin Tarantino this week said he didn\u2019t like me as an actor,\u201d a TikTok showed Lillard telling fans at GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio, this week, prompting boos from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>The actor, known for roles in the slasher film Scream, as Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies and in hit series such as NBC\u2019s Good Girls, added: \u201cEh, whatever. Who gives a s***.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/films\/reviews\/five-nights-at-freddys-review-josh-hutcherson-b2435156.html\"> Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s <\/a>star continued: \u201cThe point is that it hurts your feelings. It f***ing sucks. And you wouldn\u2019t say that to Tom Cruise. You wouldn\u2019t say that to somebody who\u2019s a top-line actor in Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tarantino, 62, reserved particular venom for Dano, while ranking Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s There Will Be Blood \u2013 in which Dano stars opposite Daniel Day Lewis \u2013 among the best films of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GettyImages-2249678419.jpg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Matthew Lillard said criticism from Tarantino \u2018f***ing sucks\u2019\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/><\/p>\n<p>open image in gallery<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Lillard said criticism from Tarantino \u2018f***ing sucks\u2019 (Getty Images for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse)<\/p>\n<p>The director said the movie \u201cwould stand a better chance to be in number one or number two if it didn\u2019t have a big giant flaw in it\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the flaw is Paul Dano,\u201d he said. \u201cObviously, it\u2019s supposed to be a two-hander, and it\u2019s also so drastically obvious that it\u2019s not a two-hander\u2026 He is weak sauce, man. He\u2019s a weak sister.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Dano] is such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy,\u201d he added. \u201cThe weakest f***ing actor in [the Screen Actors Guild].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He later added Lillard and Wilson to his list of actors he dislikes: \u201cI\u2019m not saying [Dano is] giving a non-entity performance]. I don\u2019t care for him. I don\u2019t care for Owen Wilson. I\u2019m not very popular in Hollywood\u2026 two totally different microcosms, right?
