{"id":220598,"date":"2025-12-07T19:02:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T19:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/220598\/"},"modified":"2025-12-07T19:02:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T19:02:07","slug":"infant-boy-in-critical-condition-after-two-car-crash-near-dundalk-in-co-louth-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/220598\/","title":{"rendered":"Infant boy in critical condition after two-car crash near Dundalk in Co Louth \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">An infant boy is in critical condition following a two-car collision near Dundalk in Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/louth\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/louth\/\">Louth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The collision took place on Saturday night, December 6th at around 8.20pm on the R132 at Dowdallshill, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dundalk\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dundalk\/\">Dundalk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The driver of the first car, a woman in her late 20s, received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The passenger, the infant boy, was taken to the Children\u2019s University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The driver of the second car, a man in his early 50s and the passenger, a female teenager, received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Garda\u00ed and the emergency services attended the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The N52 at the scene is currently closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/garda-siochana\/\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> have said investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-it-article-body__interstitial-link\">[\u00a0<a aria-label=\"Open related story\" class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/ireland\/2025\/12\/02\/mourners-remember-most-perfect-chloe-hipson-killed-with-friends-in-co-louth-car-crash\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mourners remember \u2018most perfect\u2019 Chloe Hipson, killed with friends in Co Louth car crashOpens in new window<\/a>\u00a0]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An infant boy is in critical condition following a two-car collision near Dundalk in Co Louth.
