{"id":220692,"date":"2025-12-07T20:13:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-07T20:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/220692\/"},"modified":"2025-12-07T20:13:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-07T20:13:07","slug":"man-arrested-after-multiple-people-pepper-sprayed-in-heathrow-airport-car-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/220692\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested after multiple people \u2018pepper sprayed\u2019 in Heathrow Airport car park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <strong>man<\/strong> has been <strong>arrested<\/strong> on suspicion of<strong> assault<\/strong> after number of people were<strong> attacked<\/strong> with \u201ca form of<strong> pepper spray<\/strong>\u201d by a group of men at a car park at <strong>Heathrow Airport<\/strong>, UK police said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were called at 8.11am on Sunday to reports multiple people had been assaulted at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3.<\/p>\n<p>Armed police attended and found a number of people who had been sprayed with what the Metropolitan Police said is believed to be a form of pepper spray by a group of men who then fled the scene.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Our teams are currently responding to an incident involving the emergency services in the Terminal 3 multi-storey car park. Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening, police said.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on X, Heathrow Airport said its teams were also responding to the incident, with passengers advised to allow extra time when travelling to the airport and to check with their airline for any queries.<\/p>\n<p>The man who was arrested remains in custody as police hunt for other suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The incident is not being treated as terrorism, Scotland Yard confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Officers said there is some disruption to traffic but Terminal 3 remains open.<\/p>\n<p>Commander Peter Stevens said: \u201cAt this stage, we believe the incident involved a group of people known to each other, with an argument escalating and resulting in a number of people being injured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur officers responded quickly and there will be an increased police presence at Heathrow Airport throughout the morning to continue inquiries and ensure the safety of those in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not treating this incident as terrorism.
