Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong> (The Northman, \u201cTrue Blood\u201d) is starring in the Gothic horror film The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands<\/strong>, Deadline<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Currently in production in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the feature is directed by Nathalie \u00c1lvarez Mes\u00e9n<\/strong> (Clara Sola) from a script she co-wrote with Sj\u00f3n<\/strong> (The Northman, Lamb).<\/p>\n

Skarsg\u00e5rd plays a British widower in the 1880s Pacific Northwest who hires a Native American governess, educated in a Christian mission school, to teach his two daughters. While preparing the eldest for an arranged marriage, a force within her begins to awaken, threatening everything she has been taught.<\/p>\n

Darla Contois<\/strong> (\u201cLittle Bird\u201d), Bronte Carmichael<\/strong> (\u201cAndor\u201d), Lily LaTorre<\/strong> (Run Rabbit Run), Forrest Goodluck<\/strong> (How to Blow Up a Pipeline), and Pernilla August<\/strong> (Star Wars: Episode I-II) round out the cast.<\/p>\n

Collaborating with such a talented group of people from all around the world has been a privilege,\u201d said Mes\u00e9n. \u201cDarla embodies Isabel with visceral emotional depth, and Alexander portrays the father with a truth and volatility that ground the story. I can\u2019t wait for the film to reach audiences!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs someone who\u2019s worked with myth and folk stories in novels, songs and screenplays, I was immediately fascinated by Nathalie\u2019s command of bringing to the screen something as difficult as the shifting borders between the inner and outer reality of her film\u2019s protagonist,\u201d offered Sj\u00f3n, who added \u201csome dark Northern lyricism to Nathalie\u2019s warm Latin American poetry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nima Yousefi (The Apprentice) of Sweden\u2019s Hobab produces alongside Resolve Media in the US, Quiddity Films in the UK, Need Productions in Belgium, and Still Vivid in Iceland.<\/p>\n
