Liverpool\u2019s FA Cup<\/a> campaign will start against Barnsley after the draw for the third round took place on Monday evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liverpool have been allocated as the home<\/strong> team for the cup tie, which will take place in January.<\/p>\n

The Reds will join the rest of the Premier League<\/a> in entering the competition at the third round, aiming to go further than last season\u2019s fourth-round finish. <\/p>\n

When will Liverpool vs. Barnsley take place?<\/p>\n

The FA Cup<\/a> third round fixtures will be played over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, January 10 and 11.<\/p>\n

It will be Liverpool\u2019s fourth game of 2026, following on from the trip to Arsenal<\/a> in the Premier League<\/a> on Thursday, January 8.<\/p>\n

For that reason, it is likely that the Reds\u2019 fixture will be scheduled for a Sunday time slot.<\/p>\n

It will be a busy start to the year for Liverpool, who face Leeds<\/a>, Fulham<\/a> and Arsenal<\/a> in the first eight days of the month.<\/p>\n

Last season, Slot\u2019s men were knocked out in the fourth round in a narrow defeat at Plymouth.<\/p>\n

Slot currently has the backing of Liverpool\u2019s hierarchy, but the Times<\/a>\u2018 Paul Joyce stated that \u201cpatience will not be limitless\u201d and that \u201cresults will ultimately dictate Slot\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report came after Mo Salah<\/a>\u2018s bombshell comments that have shone a brighter spotlight on the issues at Anfield, which has seen Liverpool win only 11 of their last 22 games.<\/p>\n

Any decision over Slot\u2019s future will be unrelated to Salah\u2019s comments, but the pressure to oversee the turnaround, in performances and results, remains.<\/p>\n
