{"id":222528,"date":"2025-12-08T21:36:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T21:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/222528\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T21:36:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T21:36:11","slug":"fda-announces-class-iii-recall-for-ziac-blood-pressure-tablets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/222528\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA announces Class III recall for Ziac blood pressure tablets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"COYI7JVRHFC5TMDR2QE2L3CJXY\">Over 11,000 bottles of a high blood pressure medication have been recalled for potential cross contamination with another drug.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"3QIKLKHG7ZB37HWSJ4KYNMFFQM\">Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., based in New Jersey, has voluntarily recalled thousands of units of bisoprolol fumarate and hydrochlorothiazide tablets (Ziac) for potentially containing amounts of a high cholesterol drug, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/us-news\/recalls\/high-blood-pressure-med-recall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NewsNation<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2YZ27CRESJCBHPJFWOBTVUELNU\">The drugmaker tested reserve samples, which revealed the presence of ezetimibe, a drug used to treat high cholesterol. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"42KNPWV3BVCWLIFGE5UR5M6GUU\">The Federal Drug Administration classified the recall with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/industry-guidance-recalls\/recalls-background-and-definitions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Class III<\/a> risk level.
