{"id":22261,"date":"2025-08-25T13:54:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T13:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/22261\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T13:54:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T13:54:09","slug":"gunners-set-to-launch-bid-to-hijack-second-tottenham-transfer-as-star-favours-one-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/22261\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunners set to launch &#8216;bid&#8217; to hijack second Tottenham transfer as star &#8216;favours&#8217; one move"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arsenal are set to launch an offer to beat Tottenham to the signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie, according to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs.<\/p>\n<p>The Gunners have already broken Spurs hearts once this summer after they came in late to hijack a deal for Eberechi Eze, who completed a move to the Emirates Stadium last week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/tottenham-hotspur\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Tottenham<\/strong><\/a> are in the market for a new attacking midfielder after James Maddison suffered an ACL injury that looks likely to rule him out for most of this season.<\/p>\n<p>But Spurs have other areas that they want to improve also with a left-sided defender on their list with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealing earlier this morning that they have made a \u2018new proposal\u2019 for Leverkusen star Hincapie.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/tottenham-romano-new-proposal-hincapie-leverkusen-rogers-aston-villa\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Romano wrote on\u00a0X<\/strong><\/a>: \u2018EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham approach Bayer Leverkusen for Piero Hincapi\u00e9 with new proposal. Loan deal with obligation to buy around \u20ac60m, same value as the release clause but to be paid from 2026. Hincapi\u00e9 wants to leave Bayer and #THFC also started discussing personal terms.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>But shortly after Romano gave details of Tottenham\u2019s interest in Hincapie, former CBS Sports journalist Jacobs has claimed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/arsenal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Arsenal<\/strong><\/a> are about to submit their own bid for Hincapie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/premier-league-2025-26-golden-boot\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gyokeres leapfrogs Salah in Golden Boot race after Leeds brace<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In another huge blow to Spurs, Hincapie \u2018favours\u2019 a move to Arsenal over their north London rivals with the Gunners doing damage to Tottenham\u2019s transfer window.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JacobsBen\/status\/1959914744724193328\" target=\"_blank\">Jacobs wrote on X<\/a>: \u2018BREAKING: Arsenal set to bid for Piero Hincapie, who favours a move to the Emirates Stadium over Spurs. Hincapie has a \u20ac60m clause. Jakub Kiwior\u2019s potential move to Porto has led #AFC to work on Hincapie.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The transfer journalist later added: \u2018More on Piero Hincapie. Arsenal pursuit contingent on outgoings, but a bid is being prepared. Leverkusen point to Hincapie\u2019s \u20ac60m release clause. Player has asked to leave for offers around \u20ac45m. Palhinha got his goal. They, I mean, after what we\u2019d said about City and their midfield and Reijnders the week before, how good he was in the debut for City in the league and then for him to be bossed by those three yesterday at home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpurs were impressive, man. They really were.
