{"id":223623,"date":"2025-12-09T12:05:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T12:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/223623\/"},"modified":"2025-12-09T12:05:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T12:05:07","slug":"record-number-of-irish-whiskey-cases-sold-last-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/223623\/","title":{"rendered":"Record number of Irish whiskey cases sold last year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A record number of cases of Irish whiskey were sold last year.<\/p>\n<p>The latest Irish Whiskey Global Trade Report shows that 16.15 million cases, which each contain 12 bottles, were purchased in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The US remains the biggest market, with over 5.47 million cases sold last year, representing one of every three bottles sold in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The US was followed by Poland, Germany, India and the UK as the top five international markets.<\/p>\n<p>707,000 case sales were recorded in the domestic market, making Ireland the fourth largest market overall.<\/p>\n<p>The Irish Whiskey Association also said the sale of the product is &#8220;growing rapidly in other markets.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It said the report shows that &#8220;significant growth is evident in key emerging markets such as Japan and India, up 124% and 120% respectively over the past three years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The association said Irish whiskey has &#8220;also enjoyed increased success throughout the European Union.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It said EU Member States now account for ten of the top 20 markets for Irish whiskey sales.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A record number of cases of Irish whiskey were sold last year.
