Derry Girls actress Siobh\u00e1n McSweeney has said she wants to see U2 frontman Bono and singer Enya take part in an Irish version of The Celebrity Traitors.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old, who hosts the reality gameshow in Ireland, said she thought Bono, whose real name is Paul Hewson, would make a good traitor as \u201cyou couldn\u2019t see a thing behind the glasses\u201d.<\/p>\n

Asked about a potential Irish version of The Celebrity Traitors on ITV\u2019s Good Morning Britain she said: \u201cIn Ireland, well, I\u2019d get Enya, I\u2019d get Bono.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Bono, I might give him a call when I leave here now, I need to return a few texts, he\u2019s very, very needy.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s amazing how the format just keeps working internationally, it\u2019s great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of the show\u2019s celebrity edition, she added: \u201cI mean the celeb version here (in the UK) was just so extraordinary, it was huge, it really punched the format to its next stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to say the programme had gone down \u201cso, so well\u201d in Ireland.<\/p>\n

Speaking about how the show had revived the spectacle of live television, McSweeney added: \u201cI still do it, I get a takeaway on a Sunday night, and it becomes sort of then television.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd with Traitors, all the young people were like, what are these commercial breaks?, because they hadn\u2019t been seeing them, because they\u2019re not watching live television.<\/p>\n

\u201cLive television is where it\u2019s at, kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

McSweeney hosted the first series of The Traitors Ireland on RT\u00c9 One earlier this year, which saw faithfuls Kelley Higgins, Oyin Adeyemi and Vanessa Ogbonna take home the prize pot, beating traitor Ben Donohue.<\/p>\n
