Taylor Swift is not a “chill person”.<\/p>\n
The Fate of Ophelia hitmaker – who ended her 21-month Eras tour in December 2024 – knows how to relax, but for her, it doesn’t involve sitting around because she has a constant need to find things to do.<\/p>\n
Appearing on the Late Show, host Stephen Colbert asked Taylor how to cope with the transition of a long-running project ending, with just months to go before the final episode of his talk show.<\/p>\n
She replied: \u201cFor this specific situation, no\u2026. But I can sort of see from afar that we\u2019re both very passionate, hyperactive people – let\u2019s not say workaholics – so when I take time off, I can\u2019t slow down that need to get up and do a lot of things today.<\/p>\n
“But I can change what those things are.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can figure out how to chill out, but I\u2019m never going to be a chill person. \u201cI\u2019m a \u2018bread girl\u2019 now, or I\u2019m like, \u2018This isn\u2019t going to cross-stitch itself!\u2019 Hobbies are kind of incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n
She urged Stephen to turn his attention to helping those around him once the show ends in May.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cYou give everything to this, you love to do a million things to prepare for this, and you give everything to the people that watch. \u201cYou can give that to your friends and family, your community… “<\/p>\n
The host quipped: \u201cBut my friends and family don\u2019t chant my name.”<\/p>\n
Taylor later said:. \u201cYou\u2019re going to be, like, podcast guy, you\u2019re going to be an influencer. You\u2019re going to make TikToks.”<\/p>\n
Stephen also asked the Blank Space singer to name her top five from her own back catalogue, but she struggled with the task.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cThis is so much pressure. You\u2019re already writing five.\u201d<\/p>\n
Taylor then asked for a “little time to get back to” the host with a list.<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cBecause I don\u2019t have enough, see. I think I require a little bit of time to like, appreciate my work in a way\u2026 and it\u2019s constantly changing, right. It\u2019s a little too soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
He quipped: \u201cYou\u2019ve got all the time you need between now and May.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, the 35-year-old star singled out the 10-minute version of All Too Well as her favourite, and Mirrorball from 2020’s Folklore but admitted she “can’t really do any of the others”.<\/p>\n
She added: “We could do an update at some point.”<\/p>\n
Elsewhere on the show, the Opalite singer praised fiance Travis Kelce as the “love of [her] life”.<\/p>\n
Discussing things that had happened to her recently, she said: “Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back. Those were two things that just might never have happened. They could have just never happened. It wasn\u2019t like, ‘Oh, it’s just a matter of time.’<\/p>\n
“Both of those things could have just never arrived in my life, and I\u2019m so grateful for both of those things happening.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Taylor Swift is not a “chill person”.
