{"id":227513,"date":"2025-12-11T14:12:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T14:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/227513\/"},"modified":"2025-12-11T14:12:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T14:12:10","slug":"china-can-sustain-5-to-6-gdp-growth-through-2035-economist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/227513\/","title":{"rendered":"China can sustain 5 to 6% GDP growth through 2035: economist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A prominent Chinese economist said the country can sustain annual economic growth of 5 to 6 per cent over the next decade and <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/topics\/us-china-trade-war?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">stabilise relations<\/a> with the United States by the middle of the century, as it seizes opportunities from the fourth industrial revolution.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Justin Lin Yifu, dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University and a former chief economist at the World Bank, said China could achieve breakthroughs in US technology \u201cchoke points\u201d within five years and raise its per capita gross domestic product to about half that of America\u2019s by 2049.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cOnce our nation\u2019s per capita GDP is half that of the United States, the great goal of national rejuvenation will be realised.
