Dundrum House Golf and Leisure Resort in Co Tipperary is to cease trading with immediate effect.<\/p>\n
The hotel, which is operated by Brogan Capital Ventures, has informed the 48 employees, who now face the prospect of losing their jobs.<\/p>\n
An assessment by the new board of the company has shown that the business is currently unable to pay its debts as they fall due.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the restaurant, bar, golf course, driving range, and leisure centre at the resort will now close.<\/p>\n
However, an IPAS centre on the grounds, which is operated by a Spanish company called Utmasta Limited, will not be affected by the decision.<\/p>\n
Brogan Capital Ventures is now set to begin a 30-day collective redundancy consultation process with staff at the venue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “The company very much regrets the adverse impact of this decision on its valued employees, golf and leisure centre members, customers, suppliers, the local community and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n
“However, it is unavoidable given the state of the company’s financial affairs.”<\/p>\n
Dundrum House Hotel has long established itself as a well-known luxury hotel and golf resort.<\/p>\n
The resort itself is surrounded by acres of green lawns and forests, stone walls and luxury chalets. <\/p>\n
