The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is preparing a file for the coroner following a fatal workplace incident in West Cork.<\/p>\n
The incident, involving two men, took place on Thursday shortly after 4pm on a farm in Kilmore, around 7km from Bandon.<\/p>\n
It is understood that the two men were building a stone wall, which subsequently collapsed on top of them.<\/p>\n
As a result of the incident, one man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene where, at the time of print, his body remained.<\/p>\n
A postmortem examination is due to be carried out at Cork University Hospital (CUH) once the man\u2019s body has been removed from the scene.<\/p>\n
The local coroner has been notified, and an inquest will be held in due course.<\/p>\n
The second man involved in the incident sustained serious injuries and was taken to CUH for medical treatment.<\/p>\n
Speaking to The Echo, a spokesperson for An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na said HSA representatives visited the scene and are compiling a file for the coroner.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother male has been brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.<\/p>\n
