Negotiations are set to continue on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff said &#8220;a lot of progress was made&#8221;, though additional details were not divulged.<\/p>\n<p>A possible peace deal could eventually increase Russian oil supply, which is currently sanctioned by Western countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Geopolitical noise remains elevated, with U.S.-led diplomacy on Ukraine, ongoing attacks on Black Sea shipping, and the renewed risk of U.S. military action in Venezuela following last week&#8217;s detention of a supertanker,&#8221; Aegis Hedging wrote in a note on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Russia <a data-testid=\"Link\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/vessel-fire-after-russian-attack-ukraines-odesa-region-sources-say-2025-12-12\/\" class=\"text-module__text__0GDob text-module__inherit-color__PhuPF text-module__inherit-font__1P1hv text-module__inherit-size__EyiQW link-module__link__INqxZ link-module__underline_default__-okuC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">attacked two Ukrainian<\/a> ports on Friday, damaging three Turkish-owned vessels.<\/p>\n<p>Rising expectations of a surplus also weighed on prices.<\/p>\n<p>J.P.
