Their first joint venture in 2018 distilled the vintage Carrera into its purest form<\/a>; the second, in 2020, reinterpreted the 1970s Autavia<\/a> through a graphic, bolder Calibre Heuer 02 Chronograph. Now, in their third collaboration<\/a>, TAG Heuer and Fujiwara return to the Carrera Glassbox<\/a> to explore the concept of functional minimalism further than ever.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Carrera Chronograph x Fragment Limited Edition is based on the latest Glassbox Carrera, a watch that itself reinterprets Jack Heuer\u2019s original 1963 design through modern materials and geometry.<\/p>\n

Classic Glassbox Case<\/p>\n

In hand, the 39mm stainless steel case immediately reveals the cool and stylish Glassbox concept<\/a>. There\u2019s no external bezel, as the highly domed sapphire crystal rises fluidly from the case edge and merges into the tachymeter flange beneath. From the side, it feels like a single continuous curve of steel and glass, an unbroken silhouette. The angular lugs are sharp and faceted, extending cleanly from the midcase in true Carrera fashion<\/a>. Measuring 13.9mm thick, it\u2019s not the slimmest chronograph, but the proportions are balanced, and the crystal\u2019s shape visually lightens the watch.<\/p>\n

The pump-style pushers and signed crown are deliberately vintage in inspiration, recalling the early motorsport Carreras of the 1960s, yet executed with a contemporary crispness. The case\u2019s ergonomic build and short 46mm lug-to-lug measurement make it sit comfortably. Viewed from different angles, the crystal magnifies parts of the dial, giving the watch an extra layer of three-dimensional quality and making it feel more like a design object.<\/p>\n

The Dial\u2026 B&W minimalism<\/p>\n

Under that tall crystal lies a matte black opaline dial, its depth accentuated by a raised white tachymeter flange with faint silver numerals. Fujiwara\u2019s trademark minimalism gets expressed by stripping the layout down to essentials: three recessed black sub-dials, 30-minute, 12-hour, and running seconds, with no numerals, just fine markers positioned at different intervals. The date window shifts to 12 o\u2019clock, discreetly framed, and on the 1st and 11th days of the month, Fragment\u2019s lightning bolt replaces the numerals (single on the 1st and double on the 11th), a subtle nod to the collaboration; repeated at 6 o\u2019clock with the Fragment\u2019s text logo.<\/p>\n

The hour markers are reduced to tiny grey lume squares, paired with rhodium-plated hour and minutes hands filled with white Super-LumiNova. The overall look is intentionally restrained, almost graphic.<\/p>\n

In-house Movement<\/p>\n

The watch is powered by the TAG Heuer Calibre TH20-00<\/a>, the brand\u2019s in-house column-wheel automatic chronograph with vertical clutch and an 80-hour power reserve. It operates at 28,800 vibrations\/hour. The movement is revealed through the sapphire caseback; the Fragment lightning-bolt emblem appears again. The rotor, an angular, shield-shaped form, is accented with black detailing to echo the monochrome dial.<\/p>\n

The seven-row \u201cbeads-of-rice\u201d bracelet continues the interplay of textures, alternating brushed and polished steel with black PVD-coated centre links. It\u2019s fitted with a folding clasp and feels cohesive with the watch\u2019s dark aesthetic.<\/p>\n
