{"id":240968,"date":"2025-12-19T12:31:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/240968\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T12:31:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T12:31:12","slug":"cork-movie-christy-scoops-dublin-film-critics-honours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/240968\/","title":{"rendered":"Cork movie \u2018Christy\u2019 scoops Dublin Film Critics honours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"contextmenu internal_Body1st\">Christy, filmed in Knocknaheeny, directed by Brendan Canty, and written by Alan O\u2019Gorman, has been named the best Irish film by the Dublin Film Critics Circle, while Mr Canty also won the Best Irish Breakthrough category.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">Mr Canty told  The Echo that it was amazing to be honoured by professional critics. \u201cIt\u2019s super humbling, especially in my first feature,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu Body Body\">\u201cI hope it opens doors and allows me to go and make more stuff because I absolutely adored making this film. It was everything I wanted it to be.
