Garda investigation ongoing following \u2018brawl\u2019 on Tucker Street in Castlebar\n<\/p>\n

A male in his 20s is receiving treatment in the Beaumont Hospital in Dublin following an alleged assault in Castlebar.<\/p>\n

Investigations are ongoing into the incident which occurred outside a premises on Tucker Street in Castlebar shortly before 2.50am on Saturday, August 23.<\/p>\n

A source described the incident as \u201ca brawl\u201d involving a number of people, which resulted in a man in 20s being knocked unconscious.<\/p>\n

The man, who is from County Offaly, was removed to Mayo University Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to the Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. <\/p>\n

The scene was preserved and a technical examination was carried out. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.<\/p>\n
