<\/p>\nPaddy Troy, Ballynacargy, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, passed away peacefully on Tuesday surrounded by his family in Mullingar\u2019s Midland Regional Hospital.<\/p>\n
Mr Troy, who was in his 91st year, was the father of Minister of State and Longford-Westmeath TD Robert Troy.<\/p>\n
In a moving tribute to his father, Mr Troy spoke of man who lived for his family and those closest to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is with deep sadness that I share the news of my father\u2019s passing,\u201d said Mr Troy wrote on his own Facebook page.<\/p>\n

\u201cA quiet man, he showed his love for us through all that he did. He will be sorely missed, but I take comfort in believing that my predeceased siblings were there to welcome him to his new home.<\/p>\n
\u201cRest in peace, Daddy \u2014 you were one in a million.\u201d<\/p>\n
A keen sports follower and man of devout faith, many spoke of a man whose \u201ctrademark smile\u201d and unwavering genoricity spread across a community that is now mourning his loss.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was so very much part of the heart of the family and community, his wonderful Christian values always to the fore, giving his all, asking nothing in return,\u201d said one local man.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has left an amazing legacy of kindness throughout his long life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Troy, who is predeceased by his infant children, his daughter Mary, son Matthew, sister Freda and brother Seamus is survived by his loving wife Sarah and ten children, Anne, Padraig, Anthony, Bernard, Michael, Gerard, Paul, Liz, Liam and Robert and brother Fr Ulic Troy.<\/p>\n
