B&Q Ireland has issued an urgent recall for an electric blanket sold between November 2024 and December 2025.<\/p>\n

With temperatures forecast to plummet in the coming days<\/a>, many households across Ireland will be reaching for one winter essential – the electric blanket.<\/p>\n

These devices have become a staple in Irish homes, beloved for their cosy comfort and as a way to save on heating costs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, shoppers are now being urged to check their model after B&Q issued an urgent recall <\/a>for an electric blanket it sold.<\/p>\n

The recall<\/a> is for the GoodHome Saturnia Electric Blanket, a beige blanket featuring a white wired controller with a digital display and multiple buttons for power and temperature adjustments.<\/p>\n

The product was sold in Irish B&Q stores between November 2024 and December 2025 to around 31 customers.<\/p>\n

In a safety alert issued on Thursday, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission explained that this item poses a risk of fire<\/a> or electric shock.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: “B&Q Ireland Limited recalls GoodHome Saturnia Electric Blanket. The product poses a risk of fire or electric shock.<\/p>\n

“An electrical component may overheat leading to a risk of fire or it may cause the heat controller housing to deform and melt which can expose live parts to the user.”<\/p>\n

The affected model has the barcode 5059340980560.<\/p>\n

Customers are being urged to stop using the blanket immediately, unplug it from the mains and return it to any B&Q store for a full refund.<\/p>\n
