Paul_IsItWorth<\/a> gave it a try.<\/p>\nHe ordered a chicken tender meal, gravy and a pot of mac and cheese and he was unimpressed by the total bill.<\/p>\n
The three chicken tenders and chips cost \u20ac14.25 and he added the gravy for \u20ac3.75 and Paul reflected: \u20ac18 and then \u20ac5 for mac and cheese. \u20ac23 for fast food now? Mad money isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n
Paul then revealed he was invited to the official launch but declined the offer so he could pay for his meal and do a more authentic review.<\/p>\n

And things did not start well when he opened up his mac and cheese. He said: \u201cOh my God, that looks rotten. That looks like prison food. The colour is interesting, it just looks kind of processed.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cCan you smell that? Oh that\u2019s pungent. I hate that. Oh my. If you are coming down here man, just go for the chicken option, holy lord, that looks like sick. That is rotten. Holy lord, I can\u2019t explain to you how bad that is.\u201d<\/p>\n
Paul then moved on to the tenders, noting how small they looked considering the meal cost him over \u20ac14.<\/p>\n
He said the size wasn\u2019t a problem, because bigger pieces in his view tended to be pumped with water, but he believed there should have been five included in the meal.<\/p>\n
As for the taste, he said: \u201cScalding hot. The breading on it is lovely, and it is juicy chicken, it really is. They are not frozen, you can tell straight away.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then said the Slim Chickens sauce was \u201csensational\u201d but added that the gravy was \u201cnot great at all\u201d despite the food overall being \u201cpretty damn fresh\u201d.<\/p>\n
And summing up his feelings, he said: \u201cThe size of that meal is ridiculously small. \u20ac14.25 for that and a little sauce like that? The markup they\u2019re making is ridiculous.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the taste is decent enough but I think it was way too small for what you\u2019re getting. \u20ac23 is crazy money for fast food. Maybe I am getting too old now. I remember fast food used to be like \u20ac8 or \u20ac9 and you would be satisfied with it.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u20ac23 for this? You would get a meal in a restaurant for this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Giving it a rating, he finished with: \u201cPrice, taste, experience, I think this is ok, I don\u2019t think it is great, I am going to go 6.2 out of ten. That\u2019s a fair score for this. Like it is solid enough food but it is too small for what you\u2019re getting.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you are looking for value for money, this isn\u2019t it. Another American food chain coming over and disappointing me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Complete rip!\u201d<\/p>\nAnother said: \u201cI just checked the U.S. site \u2014 the same meal costs $12.79, which is about \u20ac11. Still overpriced for what you get, but I\u2019d bet my bottom dollar the portion in the States is much more generous. These franchises are here to rip people off, plain and simple.\u201d<\/p>\n
