Garda\u00ed have issued an appeal for witnesses after a 61-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Co Cork on Monday.<\/p>\n
The woman has been named locally as Veronica Hoen, who was known for her work in arts education with the Irish Prison Service.<\/p>\n
In 2016, she curated \u201cProject 16: Studying the Rising\u201d, which was exhibited at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin.<\/p>\n
President Michael D Higgins praised Ms Hoen at the opening of the exhibition. He spoke of her diligent curation of the \u201cbeautiful creations\u201d produced by the inmates of Irish prisons as a means to commemorate the Easter Rising of 1916.<\/p>\n
Ms Hoen lived in Glanmire. In a tribute on the Glanmire Noticeboard page, she is described as having been \u201ca bubbly, friendly, lovely lady who will be missed by many\u201d.<\/p>\n
The single-vehicle collision happened in the Dunkettle Ballinglanna area of Glanmire at approximately 1.50pm on Monday. Ms Hoen was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
The road was closed for a time to facilitate technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, but it has since reopened to traffic.<\/p>\n
Investigating garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.<\/p>\n
Any road users with camera footage who were travelling in the area between 1.30pm and 2.10pm on Monday are asked to make this footage available.<\/p>\n
