However, the centre-back is not keen to pen fresh terms at Selhurst Park as he knows he has put himself in a great position to secure a major transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Guehi\u2019s current terms expire in June 2026, which means Palace need to sell this summer or risk him leaving for nothing in a year\u2019s time.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Guehi \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/liverpool\/crystal-palace-liverpool-marc-guehi-transfer-fee-personal-terms-agreed\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">something TEAMtalk revealed on July 3<\/a> \u2013 and have also opened talks with Palace.<\/p>\n<p>But it was claimed on Sunday that Manchester City could hijack Liverpool\u2019s move for the England defender.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Star claimed that the two clubs are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/liverpool\/marc-guehi-manchester-city-liverpool-crystal-palace\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018on a collision course\u2019<\/a> as they prepare to battle for Guehi\u2019s capture.<\/p>\n<p>However, Romano has handed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/liverpool\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liverpool<\/a> a major lift by ending speculation that Guehi could head to City.<\/p>\n<p>Despite receiving offers from other clubs, Guehi\u2019s situation \u2018has not changed\u2019 and Liverpool remains \u2018his favourite destination\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are locked in talks with Palace as they push to strike an agreement before the transfer deadline on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FabrizioRomano\/status\/1960277767380996261\" target=\"_blank\">Romano<\/a> adds that if Liverpool cannot forge a deal this week, they will wait before landing the 25-year-old on a free transfer in summer 2026.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/liverpool\/transfers-marc-guehi-crystal-palace-deal-on-fabrizio-romano\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Romano said<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cCrystal Palace would love to keep Marc Guehi. Chairman Steve Parish has said if he wants to sign a new contract he can stay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut\u00a0Guehi\u00a0has [a] clear intention to not sign any new deal and to try a new chapter. Liverpool want to sign both.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWill they be able to reach an agreement with Palace? We will see, but the conversation is still ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the Guehi deal is on for Liverpool to get a new defender for Arne Slot in these final days of the transfer window.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are aiming to sign Guehi for \u00a335m and do not want to go above the \u00a340m mark.
