A prequel to The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/a><\/strong> has been announced.<\/p>\n

Marvel Studios<\/a>\u2019 The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released in United States theaters this past July. Directed by Matt Shakman, the MCU<\/a> film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards\/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm\/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm\/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm\/Human Torch.<\/p>\n

It has previously been confirmed that Pascal, Kirby, Moss-Bachrach, and Quinn will all return in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars; however, Marvel<\/a> has now announced another project that will feature their respective Fantastic Four<\/a> characters.<\/p>\n

What is The Fantastic Four: First Steps prequel?<\/p>\n

Per The Direct<\/a>, Marvel Comics<\/a> has announced a new Fantastic Four: First Steps prequel comic titled Fantastic Four: First Foes<\/a>. Written by Dan Slot<\/a> and illustrated by Mark Buckingham, the one-shot will be released on March 4, 2026.<\/p>\n

The logline for the comic reads, \u201cAs the Fantastic Four rise to become the heroes we know today, the Mad Thinker becomes determined to get his proper due by turning the city of tomorrow against its heroic patrons!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Direct\u2019s article further notes, \u201cAlongside the battle with the Mad Thinker, the comic will feature an original two-page\u00a0Fantastic Sciencestrip written by Ryan North (the current writer of\u00a0Fantastic Four\u00a0comics), emulating the educational television program that Reed Richards hosts in his Marvel universe.\u00a0 Fantastic Four: First Foes\u00a0will be the first of four quarterly in-universe comic stories, releasing throughout 2026. Each of these new stories will tie into the characters and world of the movie, expanding on moments or characters featured in\u00a0First Steps.\u201d<\/p>\n

There was already a different First Steps prequel comic, titled Fantastic Four: First Steps #1, that was released last July, shortly before the movie came out.
