Aer Lingus has launched a brand-new route from Cork Airport to the city of Geneva in Switzerland.<\/p>\n
The Cork to Geneva service will be flying each Saturday between now and March 6.<\/p>\n
The inaugural flight EI852 from Cork to Geneva departed shortly after 1:15pm last Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Before boarding, passengers travelling on this first ever flight were presented with special gifts to mark the occasion including specially branded Christmas baubles and Swiss chocolates.<\/p>\n
Geneva is Switzerland\u2019s second largest city, with the new service also a gateway to winter sports and to what are considered some of the best ski resorts in Europe.<\/p>\n
Geneva also is the second of Aer Lingus\u2019s new routes introduced this winter from Cork Airport, following on from the start of a new service to Prague in October.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the inaugural Aer Lingus Cork to Geneva service, head of aviation business development and communications at Cork Airport Tara Finn said this is much welcomed new addition to the flight schedule.<\/p>\n
