Billy Porter<\/a> is on the path to a healthy holiday. After his urosepsis diagnosis<\/a> in September 2025, Porter shares a hopeful update on Instagram<\/a> on how he\u2019s been doing since. \u201cSome of you may or may not know that I was in the hospital very ill this fall with urosepsis,\u201d he began on December 22. \u201cIt was not easy. It\u2019s been a very, very challenging four months. And I want everybody to know that I am on the road to a full recovery. I\u2019m not there yet, but I\u2019m on the road to that.\u201d Because of his illness, he departed from his role as the Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club<\/a> a month early, on September 7, as he recovered from his \u201cserious case\u201d of sepsis; at the same time, the show announced it would be closing for good a few weeks later. Alternates Marty Lauter and David Merino filled in for the role for the remaining shows until the final performance on September 21.<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to thank everybody for your prayers and your love and sending me all the vibes,\u201d Porter emotionally continued. \u201cI felt every single one of them.
