Typically, Lana Del Rey bucks trends. But her country album has taken so long, it slots in with some of the biggest releases of the past few years: Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Cowboy Carter<\/a>, Post Malone\u2019s F-1 Trillion<\/a>, and everything Morgan Wallen has released<\/a>. Del Rey finally confirmed that her next album, the country one, will be titled Stove and released in January 2026. And, yes, she\u2019s well aware that Stove will be accidentally on trend. \u201cEight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country,\u201d Del Rey said in an August 26 W Magazine cover story<\/a>. \u201cNow everyone is going country! I\u2019ve asked myself, \u2018Should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I put my cowboy hats in storage?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n To be fair, Del Rey has taken a while. She first said she was making a country album, then called Lasso, in January 2024, at the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards<\/a>. \u201cIf you can\u2019t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We\u2019re going country. It\u2019s happening,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cThat\u2019s why Jack [Antonoff] has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.\u201d Then, in October 2024<\/a>, she said she didn\u2019t know when the album would be released: \u201cWe\u2019ll see.\u201d In November, she said it would be called \ufeffThe Right Person Will Stay, and that it would be out in May. She released one single, \u201cHenry, Come On,\u201d but then pushed the release date back again.
