{"id":248183,"date":"2025-12-23T21:08:11","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T21:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/248183\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T21:08:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T21:08:11","slug":"legendary-tipperary-bar-will-close-on-new-years-eve-due-to-the-retirement-of-proprietors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/248183\/","title":{"rendered":"Legendary Tipperary bar will close on New Year&#8217;s Eve due to the retirement of proprietors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The legendary Princess Bar in Irishtown\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tipperarylive.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Clonmel<\/a>, is to close on New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>\n Tim and Lucy Clarke are closing the Princess after 39 years in business in Clonmel.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;We had a wonderful time in Clonmel but it is time for us to retire now, and we want to embrace retirement. Clonmel was a great town for us. Our customers&#8217; lives were our lives as well. People were so good to us,&#8221; said Lucy.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n \u00a0Tim and Lucy hosted their final Christmas Party at the Princess and a great night was had by all.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Pat English said the closure was another big loss to the town and to the Irishtown area.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;The Clarkes were well-liked, and the people of the town had great time for them. A lot of people will be sorry to see it go,@ he said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n Tim and Lucia sent a message of thanks to all of their customers and the people of Clonmel for their support.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;We held our annual Christmas Party, and what a night it was. We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n Since 1987, the Princess Bar has been our home. Over the years we\u2019ve shared so many great nights, made lifelong friends, and built memories we\u2019ll always treasure.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n Now the time has come for us to hang up the keys and embrace retirement.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n The Princess Bar will close its doors to the public for the final time on 31st December 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n We want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for the support, laughter, chats, and craic over the years.
