It is not specified whether those offers were made to Palace for a January transfer or directly to the player\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n<p>You would be forgiven for assuming it is the latter, and the report <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sportwitness.co.uk\/liverpool-make-very-high-offer-for-signing-reds-in-the-lead-actively-pursuing-player\/\" target=\"_blank\">(via Sport Witness)<\/a>\u00a0explains that both clubs \u2018are prepared to offer a substantial salary\u2019 to Guehi.<\/p>\n<p>The lack of clarity is far from ideal. However, they waited until deadline day to make an acceptable offer and Palace were unable to sign a replacement in time, meaning the move collapsed.<\/p>\n<p>Guehi was understandably disappointed but acted extremely professionally throughout the remainder of the summer transfer window and since his proposed move to Anfield fell through.<\/p>\n<p>The impact of Guehi\u2019s failed Liverpool transfer<\/p>\n<p>Guehi\u2019s performances have not dipped as a result of the failed move, but Liverpool have been deeply disappointing despite spending over \u00a3400m and breaking their transfer record twice last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Arne Slot has felt compelled to continue playing the struggling Ibrahima Konate, and had he landed Guehi, the Reds\u2019 season could look very different.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/liverpools-transfer-regret-premier-league-team-of-the-season-snub-guehi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Waiting until deadline day to have an offer accepted may prove to be one of the worst decisions made by any Premier League club this year.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As for Palace, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/opinion-liverpool-weekend-worsens-guehi-winner-palace\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>they have benefitted from Guehi staying<\/strong><\/a>.
