A sell-out concert by music legend Bruce Springsteen at P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh last year helped the stadium firm\u2019s revenues surge by 55% to \u20ac5.5m.<\/p>\n
Revenues generated by 40,000 fans who paid to see Springsteen perform at the Cork stadium, along with a sell-out Munster hurling championship game against Limerick, which both took place in May 2024, contributed to P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh CTR (PUC) reducing its pre-tax losses by 29%, to \u20ac1.9m, in 2024.<\/p>\n
The accounts for P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh CTR (PUC) show revenues increased \u20ac1.93m, from \u20ac3.62m to \u20ac5.55m in the 12 months to the end of September 2024.<\/p>\n
The stadium firm recorded earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of \u20ac582,491 compared to an Ebitda loss of \u20ac331,561 in 2023 \u2014 a positive swing of \u20ac914,052.<\/p>\n
P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh was completed at a cost of \u20ac96m in 2017, and the company last year bore two of its biggest costs associated with the redeveloped stadium \u2014 non-cash depreciation costs of \u20ac1.52m and loan interest costs of \u20ac957,874.<\/p>\n
The directors said the stadium redevelopment had been financed to date by the Cork County Board\u2019s\u00a0 (CCB) own finances, a grant of \u20ac20m from Cumann L\u00fathchleas Gael, Department of Sport grants, and Munster Council grants of \u20ac34.64m; bank loans and sales of long-term tickets and other fundraising schemes.<\/p>\n
The stadium was rebranded to SuperValu P\u00e1irc U\u00ed Chaoimh last year followed the Cork County Board reaching a 10-year naming rights sponsorship agreement with the retailer.<\/p>\n
