A man who has been arrested in Brazil is suspected to be connected to the disappearance of toddler Daniel Aruebose.<\/p>\n
Police in Brazil have arrested a man who is pending deportation to Ireland.<\/p>\n
A Garda spokesperson confirmed they were aware an Irish man was arrested in Brazil over an immigration issue.<\/p>\n
“This is a matter for the Brazilian authorities at this time,” said the spokesperson.<\/p>\n
The arrest is the result of international police cooperation between the Federal Police, through the Federal Police Superintendency in Maranh\u00e3o and the Directorate of International Cooperation, with the participation of the Attach\u00e9s in Colombia and the United Kingdom, according to a statement by police in Brazil.<\/p>\n
It is understood garda\u00ed will seek to speak to the man upon his return to Ireland.<\/p>\n
Daniel Aruebose was last seen alive at his home in Donabate over four-and-a-half years ago when he was just three years old.<\/p>\n
His death was upgraded to a homicide investigation after he was found buried in a field in north Dublin earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, a woman was arrested by garda\u00ed in relation with the investigation into Daniel’s disappearance.<\/p>\n
The woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.\u00a0<\/p>\n
