In a torture test, the Galaxy Z TriFold bent and broke, and its screen died a horrific death. You don’t need to worry too much about it as that is not how most people use their phones.

The Galaxy Z TriFold went through popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything’s extreme torture test where it faced heat, fire, pressure, scratches, and bends. The pixels on the phone’s foldable OLED screen and the cover screen burnt after facing heat from a cigarette lighter. Its rear plastic panel got scratched easily. Its metal frame is strong but still can’t withstand pressure from sharp knives, similar to most other high-end phones.

After lots of sand was poured on the hinges and the phone was folded and unfolded multiple times, the hinges started making crunching and grinding sounds. And a quick bend in the wrong direction resulted in the phone just giving up. The pixels teared up and the screen died quickly. The phone’s Armour Aluminum frame doesn’t seem as strong as the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, as it got bent alongside the phone’s antenna line due to being extremely thin.

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Z TriFold is strong and it tested the device vigorously based on common everyday usage. The company says it can withstand 200,000 folds and unfolds, and in a recent third-party test, the Galaxy Z TriFold withstood up to 144,000 folds and unfolds.

Since JerryRigEverything’s torture test is extreme, and people don’t usually use their phones that extremely, but it is seems that Samsung’s first tri-folding phone isn’t as strong as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, as that phone was able to withstand torture in a much better way, and its frame didn’t bend, and the phone didn’t bend backwards.

Samsung’s first tri-folding phone isn’t as durable as its seventh-generation bi-folding phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
