Police investigating the attempted murder of two people in Bangor, Co Down, on Christmas Eve have released new images of a 54-year-old man they are seeking in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

Two people, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s, were injured in the incident at Chippendale Avenue, when a man armed with a hammer and knife entered a residential property and assaulted them.<\/p>\n

He fled the scene on foot, still armed, the PSNI said.<\/p>\n

The two people who were injured have since been discharged from hospital.<\/p>\n

The PSNI this afternoon released an image of the man they wish to speak to, pictured in the Coniston Road area at around 3.55pm on 24 December.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Lindsay Fisher said a number of searches have been carried out at different properties.<\/p>\n

Police say they believe the suspect was wearing a navy blue jacket with the brand name ‘Helly Hansen’ on the back in white.<\/p>\n

He is described as being around 1.77m (5’10”) in height, with short dark hair and was also wearing blue jeans and dark trainers with white soles.<\/p>\n

Supt Fisher said people should not approach the man, but should contact police immediately.<\/p>\n
