On August 18, the court ruled in the Marius case. A year after his first arrest and following a long investigation, the Prosecutor\u2019s Office filed formal charges against Marius Borg H\u00f8iby<\/strong>, accusing him of 32 crimes and 4 rapes. The eldest son of Princess Mette-Marit<\/strong> could face up to ten years in prison if found guilty. The trial, expected to draw heavy media attention, is scheduled for mid-January 2026 and will run for about six weeks. His arrest has once again put the spotlight on him, his family, and especially his father, Morten Borg<\/strong>, whose past has been marked by several controversies.<\/p>\n

The state prosecutor, Sturla Henriksbo<\/strong>, confirmed in a press conference in Oslo that the eldest brother of Ingrid\u00a0<\/strong>and Sverre Magnus<\/strong> of Norway faces up to ten years in prison if convicted. Among the charges are four rapes of four different women, abuse in relationships, violent acts, public disorder, property damage, violation of a restraining order against an ex-girlfriend, illegal intimate recordings of women, death threats, harassment of police officers, and traffic offenses.<\/p>\n

Because of these latest developments, his biological father is back in the spotlight. Morten Borg is now under scrutiny<\/strong> not only for being Marius\u2019s father but also for his own criminal record. It\u2019s true that the incidents date back more than three decades and were punished by law, but many believe his son is repeating certain patterns of behavior that, regardless of the circumstances, in no way excuse him.<\/p>\n

He now works as a businessman and financial analyst, living a quiet and discreet life that contrasts with his younger years.
