defeats in recent history after losing to Kairat Almaty on penalties.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/brendan-rodgers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brendan Rodgers\u2019<\/a> side were lacklustre across the whole 120 minutes and missed penalties from Adam Idah, Luke McCowan and Daizen Maeda meant that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/match\/celtic-player-ratings-vs-kairat-almaty-as-brendan-rodgers-side-crash-out-of-champions-league-on-penalties\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kairat beat Celtic<\/a>, becoming only the second team from Kazakhstan to qualify for the main league phase of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/champions-league\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Questions will be rightly asked about the performance of the players, the decision making from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/club\/celtic-manager\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Celtic manager<\/a> and anger at the board.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/aiden-mcgeady\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aiden McGeady<\/a> believes that this could be an eye-opening moment for everyone associated with the club.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">BBC Sportsound<\/a> after the game, McGeady thought that the Hoops lacked any sort of quality across the pitch and that it is a reminder of the problems that the club face right now.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThere was a real lack of quality, a real lack of intensity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought you would see a massive difference in the two performances, but they were very similar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a terrible way to go out the Champions League, but it\u2019s a stark reminder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do not think Kairat a top level by team any stretch of the imagination, so I think it\u2019ll be interesting to see how they get on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celtic must wake up or continue sleepwalking to more problems<\/p>\n<p>For so long now, Celtic have been the dominant force in Scotland but are at risk of sacrificing future chances of success.<\/p>\n<p>A lack of investment in the playing squad has left Rodgers visibly frustrated and the gamble of waiting for Champions League football to make signings has backfired spectacularly.<\/p>\n<p>It was already going to be a busy final week for Celtic in the transfer window and it\u2019s now just got a whole
