Britney Spears<\/strong> is getting props from an unexpected quarter \u2014 her third ex-husband, Sam Asghari<\/strong>, who told People<\/a> his relationship with the troubled pop tart was a \u201cblessing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old model and actor\u2019s praise comes on the heels of Kevin Federline<\/strong>\u2019s blistering memoir, which painted Britney as troubled and erratic.<\/p>\n

But Asghari refuses to bash the \u201cGimme More\u201d singer, 44, and instead focuses on the positive aspects of their time together.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything just happened so naturally and normal,\u201d the newly minted Playgirl<\/a> cover model says of their romance, adding that it didn\u2019t matter that she was \u201csuper famous or not famous at all. It was a blessing. I fall in love, and I try to make life happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

As readers know, the two were first linked after meeting on the set of the songbird\u2019s \u201cSlumber Party\u201d music video in 2016. They tied the knot in 2022 but separated after only 14 months of marriage in August 2023. Their divorce was finalized in May 2024.<\/p>\n

Asghari says he wanted to sign a prenup before he and Britney got married so she would be shielded financially. \u201cI wanted to make sure she\u2019s protected, because throughout her life, everybody \u2014 I don\u2019t know one person that\u2019s ever been in her life that didn\u2019t take advantage of her,\u201d he on Trading Secrets<\/a> podcast. \u201cSo it\u2019s very sad. I wanted to make sure that I\u2019m the person that [didn\u2019t] do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though he has since moved on with Los Angeles real estate agent Brooke Irvine<\/strong>, the Iranian-born Asghari abides by an old Persian proverb that warns against speaking ill of people you\u2019ve dined with. To share a meal is to pledge loyalty, he explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best thing you can do is celebrate the past, appreciate the past, and not dwell on the fact that it\u2019s over. Be happy it ever even happened,\u201d he says<\/a>. Today he wishes all the best for his ex. \u201cI just hope the happiest for her \u2026 I celebrate the past, and it\u2019s a big part of me, so I think everything should go well for her.\u201d<\/p>\n
