Police have seized a \u201csignificant quantity\u201d of class A drugs<\/strong> following a pursuit in Co Antrim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A man, aged in his 40s, was also arrested following the incident on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said officers pursued a white coloured Audi from Belfast to Templepatrick.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt around 9.15pm, officers were attending a report in the Antrim area when they observed a white Audi A4 acting suspiciously,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA short time later, the same vehicle was reported to have been seen breaching a red light in the Broadway roundabout area of south Belfast, before doing a U turn on the Donegall Road.<\/p>\n

\u201cOfficers pursued the vehicle, which continued to drive in an erratic manner on the M2 country-bound, and swerving onto the hard shoulder to undertake vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt also swerved at a police vehicle, narrowly avoiding a collision. Officers continued to pursue the car after it exited the motorway, and it later crashed into a field at the junction of the Moat Road and the Cherryhill Road, near Templepatrick.<\/p>\n

\u201cA quantity of suspected Class A drugs together with drugs paraphernalia, a passport, and mobile phones were also located inside the vehicle by police.<\/p>\n

\u201cA man aged in his 40s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of offences including failing to stop for police, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, dangerous driving, possession of a Class controlled drug, and possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe man remains in custody at this time, assisting with police enquiries.<\/p>\n
