Holidaymakers hoping for a trip to Croatia from Cork Airport are losing a major destination – as Aer Lingus has dropped its direct Dubrovnik service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dubrovnik is one of the top tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, with historic heritage sites and gorgeous views over the Adriatic Sea. But Aer Lingus<\/a> has axed the route after six years in service, leaving only Ryanair<\/a>‘s route to Zadar – more than 350km north of Dubrovnik – the only Croatian spot left on the Cork departures board<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s very bad news for the many people in Munster who have holiday homes in Croatia, or just love to visit the gorgeous Dalmatian coast, which has been popular with Cork holidaymakers since flights to the former Yugoslavia began in the mid 1980s.<\/p>\n

The Aer Lingus route to the historic city was launched in 2019. Direct flights to Dubrovnik will still be available from Dublin Airport – though the drive up to the Irish capital may prove even longer than the three-hour flight to Croatia.<\/p>\n

Aer Lingus told CorkBeo: \u201cIn response to evolving travel patterns, Aer Lingus\u2019 seasonal service from Cork to Dubrovnik will not operate for summer 2026.”<\/p>\n

The Aer Lingus schedule has seen other changes in recent weeks – with some positive additions including routes to Nice and Santiago de Compostela, landing on the airline’s list of destinations next year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Aer Lingus has extended its route between Cork and Prague<\/a> from a winter-only service to a year-round service. The new routes announced today bring the total number of new Aer Lingus routes within the last 12 months to 6. Aer Lingus’ 2026 Summer schedule also includes popular services to M\u00e1laga, Faro, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, Bilbao and Bordeaux, along with daily services to London Heathrow and Aer Lingus Regional services to Bristol and Glasgow.<\/p>\n
