Axel is looking for a rural foster home<\/p>\n
A dog has been brought back to a Clare animal shelter just months after having being rehomed.<\/p>\n
Young Collie Axel was brought to Clare Animal Welfare\u2019s dog shelter when he was a puppy and was rehomed in Dublin. However, at 10 months old the dog is finding city life difficult and the shelter is now looking for a rural foster home where he can<\/p>\n
Axel is a sensitive dog and according to the shelter, becoming quite stressed on walks and reactive towards unfamiliar dogs.<\/p>\n
The shelter has now appealed for a foster home in a rural area while they find his forever home.<\/p>\n
The shelter said: \u201cWe urgently need a rural foster home in Clare (or nearby) for this beautiful young Collie boy \u2013 please give him a share so we can find one.<\/p>\n
\u201cGorgeous Axel was adopted from us as a young pup. He\u2019s now 10 months old, and sadly, the poor lad is just not coping with urban life in Dublin. He becomes quite stressed on walks, and this can show as reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs and people he meets while out and about.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat this sensitive boy really needs is a peaceful rural life. Before we can begin the search for his forever home, we\u2019d love to take him into foster care so he can decompress for a couple of weeks. All of our wonderful foster families are currently full or unavailable, so we\u2019re now hoping a new fosterer might be able to help Axel during this important transition.<\/p>\n
\u201cAxel has been living with a cat and is totally fine with him. He\u2019s also lived with another dog, whom he loves, and he could live with a calm dog in his foster home. However, as he can be reactive with dogs he doesn\u2019t know well, we\u2019d ideally love to find a foster home where he would be the only dog.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re looking for a kind-hearted, experienced person or couple with a large, secure garden in the countryside where Axel can let off some steam and decompress. He\u2019ll repay you a thousand times over with cuddles, fun, and pure love!\u201d<\/p>\n
