{"id":259654,"date":"2025-12-31T10:33:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-31T10:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/259654\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T10:33:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T10:33:09","slug":"how-to-make-nathan-anthonys-spicy-tuna-pitta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/259654\/","title":{"rendered":"How to make Nathan Anthony\u2019s spicy tuna pitta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cAfter many trips to London and countless hours spent at the airport, I found myself relying on Joe &amp; The Juice for a quick yet healthy bite to eat,\u201d says food writer Nathan Anthony, of Bored Of Lunch fame. \u201cTheir iconic Tunacado sandwich became a favourite of mine, so I\u2019ve had to recreate it for when I crave this sandwich.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C4X5pHboPSH\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\"background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Spicy tuna pitta<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><br \/>(Makes 2)<\/p>\n<p>300g tinned tuna, drained<br \/>80g light mayo<br \/>Juice of \u00bd lemon<br \/>1tbsp yellow mustard<br \/>Handful of fresh coriander, chopped<br \/>3 jalape\u00f1os, diced<br \/>Dash of hot sauce<br \/>2 wholemeal pittas<br \/>Salt and pepper, to taste<\/p>\n<p><strong>To serve:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4tsp green pesto<br \/>1 tomato, sliced<br \/>\u00bd avocado, sliced<br \/>Fresh dill (optional)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1767167707986_0.jpg--.jpg\" width=\"640\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl, combine the tuna, mayo, lemon juice, mustard, coriander, jalape\u00f1os, hot sauce, salt and pepper, giving it a good mix with a fork.<\/p>\n<p>Cut the corners from your pitta to recreate the iconic Joe &amp; The Juice Tunacado look and air-fry for five minutes at 200\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Once cooked, slice the pitta in half and add one teaspoon of pesto to each side of the pitta. On one side add your tuna mixture, then top with tomato and avocado slices and some fresh dill, if you like.
