A supermoon looms on January 3, and an astronomical blue moon is on the books for May.<\/p>\n<p>The sun will also generate buzz with a <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/world\/americas\/article\/3280862\/south-america-treated-rare-ring-fire-eclipse?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u201cring of fire\u201d eclipse<\/a> at the bottom of the world in February and a total solar eclipse at the top of the world in August. Expect more auroras in unexpected places, though perhaps not as frequently as in the past couple of years.And that comet that strayed into our turf from another star? While still visible with powerful backyard telescopes, the recently discovered comet known as <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/world\/united-states-canada\/article\/3333482\/nasa-shares-new-images-3i\/atlas-and-rejects-alien-spacecraft-rumours?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">3I\/ATLAS<\/a> is fading by the day after swinging past Earth in December. Jupiter is next on its dance card in March. Once the icy outsider departs our solar system a decade from now, it will be back where it belongs in interstellar space.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">It is our third known interstellar visitor.
