{"id":26040,"date":"2025-08-27T07:51:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T07:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/26040\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T07:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T07:51:07","slug":"large-portions-of-dublin-tram-system-shut-down-amid-power-failure-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/26040\/","title":{"rendered":"Large portions of Dublin tram system shut down amid power failure \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Large portions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/luas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/luas\/\">Luas<\/a> system are shut down as a result of power-supply issues, with significant disruption to the public transport network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">across Dublin<\/a> likely this morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Commuters could have their travel plans thrown into disarray with significant portions of both the Red and Green lines not operating due to a power outage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The Red Line services are currently only operating from Tallaght\/Saggart to Smithfield with no trams running into the city centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Green Line services are currently only operating from Brides Glen to St Stephen\u2019s Green and there is no service from Broombridge to St Stephen\u2019s Green. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Luas tickets will be valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of the disruption, and the operators of the service, Transdev, have apologised for any inconvenience caused.
