When Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban on September 30, there were reports of an alleged affair <\/a>on the country singer\u2019s part. Now, that story might not be true.<\/p>\n

It seems that Kidman\u2019s pals are backing away from that narrative, according to a RadarOnline report.<\/a> \u201cThis was not triggered by any explosive wrongdoing,\u201d a source claimed. \u201cAfter years of juggling intense professional demands, they gradually realized their paths were no longer aligned.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was TMZ that shared the affair allegations<\/a> on the day the Australian actress filed the divorce papers. The outlet reported that they spoke to \u201cmultiple sources\u201d who claimed \u201call the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman. Let\u2019s just say, Nicole doesn\u2019t dispute that, but she\u2019s still shocked over it.\u201d The infidelity news was \u201call over Nashville.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were three women<\/a> who were identified as possible his possible mistresses, including 25-year-old guitarist Maggie Baugh, 24-year-old country singer Alana Springsteen, and 25-year-old actress Karley Scott Collins. There was never any confirmation of the rumors, and Baugh\u2019s friend, Alexandra Kay, debunked the affair story.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I was heartbroken for them because the media scrutiny is insane and the things that people say \u2026 They\u2019re like, stirring up rumors about Maggie Baugh, and I\u2019m like, \u2018She\u2019s a good friend of mine, and I know that\u2019s absolutely not true,\u2019\u201d Kay said on the Taste of Country Nights podcast<\/a> on October 22.<\/p>\n

Kay continued, \u201cI\u2019ve met her boyfriend, and she\u2019s very happy, and she has nothing to do with that whole relationship [with Urban]. I feel sad for everybody involved that people are doing that and picking apart their personal life. I pray for peace for them and for everybody to have their privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman and Urban\u2019s split took everyone by surprise, and without an affair narrative, fans are left scratching their heads as to what went wrong in their marriage. But the writing might have been on the wall when Urban sniped at a reporter<\/a> for The Times in September 2024 when he was asked about his wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just don\u2019t want to give you guys a headline about my wife, Ed,\u201d Urban said. It was clear the 58-year-old country star wanted to talk about himself, not Kidman, during the interview.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cWe\u2019ve had the best conversation about my career and my music, and I love that at the very end of this conversation, you\u2019re going to give one more swing to see if I\u2019ll talk about my wife. I\u2019m not going to talk about her.\u201d<\/p>\n

That might have been the beginning of the end for Kidman and Urban.<\/p>\n
