From a large equestrian estate and contemporary coastal homes to period properties steeped in local history \u2014 including one with a notable Hollywood connection \u2014 these sales are five of the highest-priced single dwellings recorded by the Property Price Register up to December 6, offering a snapshot of where the Garden County\u2019s top-end market landed in 2025.<\/p>\n

The most expensive residential sale recorded in Wicklow in 2025 was Spruce Lodge, a five-bedroom Georgian country house set on a 108-acre estate at Ballyrogan, Redcross.<\/p>\n

Extending to approximately 502 sqm, the main residence forms the centrepiece of a large holding combining residential, equestrian and land uses.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main house, the estate includes several further residential units comprising a three-bedroom manager\u2019s house, a two-bedroom garden cottage and three two-bedroom apartments, along with a chalet located beside a private lake.<\/p>\n

The lands incorporate formal gardens, woodland, paddocks, river frontage along the Redcross River and approximately seven hectares of forestry.<\/p>\n

Spruce Lodge also incorporates a substantial purpose-built equestrian training centre with extensive stabling, indoor and outdoor arenas and cross-country facilities. The equestrian complex was developed by the late Joan Keogh, founder of the Irish Dressage Society.<\/p>\n

Selling for \u20ac2.25m, Farniente in Delgany was described in a 2021 property feature as a substantially remodelled home that had undergone an extensive redesign by its owners.<\/p>\n

At that time, the house was presented as a contemporary family residence with generous living accommodation arranged over multiple levels, following a full internal reconfiguration.<\/p>\n

The feature also noted the home\u2019s elevated position within Kendalstown Rise, with views across the surrounding landscape, and highlighted the scale of the refurbishment works undertaken at the property.<\/p>\n

It further described how the redesign significantly altered the internal layout, creating a modernised living environment within what had originally been a more traditional house.<\/p>\n

The works were presented as comprehensive in scope, affecting much of the internal accommodation rather than representing a series of minor upgrades.<\/p>\n

The detached home forms part of a small, private residential scheme comprising 13 homes and occupies an elevated site within the North Shore development. Set on a plot of approximately 0.692 acres, the property includes landscaped gardens and enjoys views over the Irish Sea.<\/p>\n

Internally, the accommodation comprises multiple living and reception spaces spread across a large footprint, along with four bathrooms. The layout also incorporates a dedicated leisure area, which has been used as a gym and games room, with independent access, as well as a hot tub and additional flexible space suitable for home working or ancillary accommodation.<\/p>\n

Staying in Greystones, Knockbawn on Portland Road is a detached period house within Ireland\u2019s first planned housing estate and noted for its association with Hollywood actor Gene Wilder, who rented the house while filming Quackser Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx in Ireland in the late 1960s.<\/p>\n

The main house provides just under 3,360 sqft of accommodation and includes four bedrooms, along with a separate self-contained apartment of approximately 520 sq ft with its own entrance. The property occupies a corner site of around half an acre and is among the earlier homes built on the Burnaby estate, dating from around 1900.<\/p>\n

Knockbawn retains several original Arts and Crafts and Edwardian-era features, including decorative plasterwork, tiled flooring and period fireplaces.<\/p>\n

Built around 1904, the detached Edwardian house extends to approximately 303 sqm (excluding garage) and is set on a landscaped site of about 0.54 acre. The house retains a range of original period features, including decorative plasterwork, stained-glass windows and period fireplaces, reflecting its early-twentieth-century origins.<\/p>\n

Accommodation is arranged over two floors and includes multiple reception rooms at ground level, with five bedrooms on the first floor, including an en suite to the principal bedroom. A garage of approximately 37 sqm forms part of the property.<\/p>\n

Set back from Burnaby Road, the house overlooks Burnaby Park, with gardens extending to the rear and access via a private lane.
