It is sitting in the Number 91 position of the chart, at the time of writing.<\/p>\n<p>Radiohead have previously featured in the Hot 100 with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/radiohead-577-1352464\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018In Rainbows\u2019<\/a> track \u2018Nude\u2019 in 2008 (Number 37), \u2018High And Dry\u2019 in 1995 (Number 78), and \u2018Creep\u2019 in 1993 (Number 34). The latter remains the band\u2019s most successful single in the States.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Let Down\u2019 spent seven weeks on the UK singles chart upon its release, peaking at Number 85.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The song featured in the season one finale of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/brands\/disney\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Disney<\/a>+\u2019s hit series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/series\/the-bear\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Bear <\/a>in 2022. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/features\/tv-features\/the-bear-needle-drops-radiohead-david-bryne-3765836\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a round-up of \u2018nine note-perfect needle-drops\u2019 in the show<\/a>, NME said that the \u201cmagically mournful \u2018OK Computer\u2019 classic \u2018Let Down\u2019\u201d provided \u201ca strangely fitting counterpoint to this rare moment of euphoria\u201d in the episode.<\/p>\n<p>Recent months have seen the track become more popular on TikTok, where users have connected with its emotional themes. Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/music\/2025\/aug\/26\/radioheads-let-down-enters-us-billboard-charts-28-years-after-its-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Guardian<\/a>, the most liked video to include \u2018Let Down\u2019 on the platform shows AI-generated fictional couples from well-known films taking a selfie with their imaginary children. The clip has earned 4.2million likes.<\/p>\n<p>Radiohead are yet to follow up on their ninth and most recent album, 2016\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/blogs\/nme-blogs\/radiohead-a-moon-shaped-pool-talking-points-8462\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018A Moon Shaped Pool\u2019<\/a>. This March, the group sparked rumours of new material incoming after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/radiohead-suggest-upcoming-activity-by-forming-new-legal-entity-3846096\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">forming a new legal entity called RHEUK25 LLP<\/a>. Shortly afterwards, it was reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/radiohead-2025-tour-seemingly-confirmed-by-management-3847272\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">they had \u201cplaced holds in select European cities for a run of residency gigs\u201d this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bassist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/radiohead-have-been-back-together-rehearsing-it-was-really-fun-3791835\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Colin Greenwood revealed last year that Radiohead \u201cdid some rehearsals\u201d over the summer<\/a>. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/radiohead-interview-colin-greenwood-how-to-disappear-photo-book-band-future-tour-3803426\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he later told NME that \u201cit doesn\u2019t mean a tour is imminent\u201d<\/a>. The musician added: \u201cI think we\u2019re still a band where people might want to know what might happen next. We\u2019re very lucky to have that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/jonny-greenwood-interview-the-smile-cutouts-radiohead-return-3801554\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jonny Greenwood told us that the rehearsals were \u201cfun and natural\u201d<\/a>, but explained that there were \u201cno plans\u201d for new music. \u201cWe\u2019ve [got] lots of individual projects going on at the moment,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>At around the same time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/thom-yorke-really-doesnt-give-a-fuck-if-you-want-radiohead-to-return-3804946\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">frontman Yorke said he \u201creally doesn\u2019t give a fuck\u201d if fans want Radiohead to return<\/a>. The singer, who has been busy with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-smile\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Smile<\/a> in recent years, admitted earlier this month that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/thom-yorke-still-struggling-to-be-creative-post-pandemic-i-really-valued-that-time-3883389\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">he was \u201cstill struggling\u201d to be creative following the COVID-19 pandemic<\/a>. He was speaking upon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/heres-a-peek-inside-radioheads-new-exhibition-this-is-what-you-get-3883173\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the launch of Radiohead\u2019s new exhibition, \u2018This Is What You Get\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/radiohead-revisit-archive-hail-to-the-thief-recordings-new-live-album-3884656\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the band have revisited some \u201carchive\u201d recordings from the \u2018Hail To The Thief\u2019 era for a new live album<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/thom-yorke-speaks-out-on-israel-and-palestine-stance-3866206\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yorke shared a lengthy post explaining his stance towards the conflict between Israel and Palestine<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Radiohead\u2018s song \u2018Let Down\u2019 has become the band\u2019s fourth US hit, 28 years after its release.
