{"id":262542,"date":"2026-01-02T00:53:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-02T00:53:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/262542\/"},"modified":"2026-01-02T00:53:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T00:53:19","slug":"average-farm-income-forecast-to-fall-19-in-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/262542\/","title":{"rendered":"Average farm income forecast to fall 19% in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The average farm income in 2026 is forecast to fall by 19%, to just over \u20ac40,000, largely driven by a decline in dairy income.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s according to a report published by economists in Teagasc.<\/p>\n<p>The report found that economic growth at the global level is expected to be lower than in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Taking the year as a whole, Irish milk prices in 2026 could be down by more than 20% on their average level for 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Average incomes are forecast to rise on cattle farms in 2026, with an increase of 18% to \u20ac26,000.<\/p>\n<p>In general, farm incomes on cattle farms in 2026 are forecast to be well above historical averages.<\/p>\n<p>The IFA&#8217;s Ulster\/North Leinster chair, Co.
